Local Threads Uses Direct To Garment Printing Technology (DTG Printer)

Direct to Garment printing (DTG) the name also given to this style of printing. DTG printing is a style of printing carried out by a machine which allows you to place a T shirt on a flat bed, which then runs under a print head allowing you to print directly to a garment. Our DTG printer is capable of printing on light and dark garments. There are minimal setups required to print to a garment which allows us to print small runs, ranging from 1-200 units. You will be amazed with the results this machine can produce. Keeping in mind the better the quality image we start with the better the end result. This machine is capable of printing on a surface area of 300mm x 380mm at 720 dpi. So the detail that can now be placed on a garment is unbelievable, remembering screen printing is limited to 70 or 80 dpi. The advantage of a small run is you can now print a few test shirts, without having to mass produce only to find out the design was a flop.
